How quickly the year is coming to an end. No sooner do we push back from the Thanksgiving dinner table only to realize that the Christmas and New Year’s holidays are just around the corner. This time of year always seems to fly by us faster than we can believe. So what kind of year was 2009 for you? Did you accomplish your goals? Do you vow to make changes in the new year?
By all counts, we think we can agree that 2009 was a challenging year for most everyone. Who wasn’t affected by the continuing doldrums of our economy? It would be easy to reflect on the past year as “the glass being half empty.” We can all relate to stress, anxiety and hardships we endured in 2009 and a series of disappointments that may have loomed over our heads like a perpetual horizon of black clouds, but so what? We contend that whatever our troubles, it could have been much worse. In actuality, we should probably regard this past year as “the glass being half full.” Sure, the sour economy no doubt played a role in most our lives, but there might just be things that are more essential to us. Food, shelter, freedom, health and sense of being are all things that we should not take for granted as there are many in the world who are not as fortunate and don’t have these things. Naturally, we all hope for better times in 2010, but let’s count our blessings for the good fortune that most of us enjoy now.
At Strategic Marketing Solutions, we wish you a joyous Holiday season and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
